Dr. Praanesh Kapur graduated with his Bachelors of Dental Surgery (BDS) from College of Dental Surgery, Manipal Academy of Higher Education in 2000. After gaining his BDS, Dr Kapur entered private dental practice in New Delhi before heading to Brisbane to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Cosmetic Dentistry at the University of Queensland in 2002. He returned home to continue private practice further refining his skills as a general dentist. During this time he developed a keen interest for Periodontology and Dental Implants which ultimately lead him to the Dept. of Periodontology, University of Toronto, Canada to complete a Full-term Program in Oral Reconstructive Dentistry . In that period Dr Kapur worked and trained under Dr. Douglas Deporter with multiple implant systems namely ITI STraumann, Endopore, 3i et al allowing him to apply his detailed knowledge and practical experience in the field of dental implants directly to the clinical setting. In addition, he has developed specific interest in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of patients with advanced periodontitis (gum disease) , which often involves a multidisciplinary approach to management.
He has been lecturing extensively since 2007, at the Smile India Foundation, New Delhi and has been a part of hands-on training programs including live surgical demonstrations on the topics of Dental Implants and advanced periodontal therapies. He is currently the Director of Programs at Four Dimensions Dental Pvt. Ltd. which is involved in conducting advanced training programs in Dental Implants in collaboration with the University of Detroit Mercy, Michigan.
Apart from his contribution to education, he is actively involved in organization and volunteering for with the Chintamani Foundation, which organizes free monthly dental camps at Barotiwala, Himachal Pradesh for the past 7 years.
